We wiped ourselves out filling up the truck with wood chips and digging holes for a bunch of shrubs, so the dogs didn’t get a walk today. But they were still entertained inside and out!

Today our family celebrated a birthday by kayaking on the island so we put Tilly in her crate for a few hours in the A.M. only the 2nd time since she’s been with us. We made sure the pups got a lot of activity in the afternoon, and did their daily walk in the early evening instead of the morning.
Tilly has been getting feisty with our cats, just playing but doing some chasing and barking at Cowboy who is the more reserved and cautious kitty.

2.5 mile morning walk along Euclid Ave. After their walks, Tilly is always up for playing when we get home…boxing with Bubba and daring him to try and get a squeaky pineapple from her. Pretty consistently, if I start giving Tilly pets and talking sweetly to her, Bubba inserts himself in the situation, then they start “fighting” over me and then forget I exist.

Tilly adores head and ear scratches during morning coffee. She and Bubba never tire of chasing and wrestling with one another. They’re more likely to keep at it if one of us is out there to watch the show.
Jeff took Tilly and Bubba for a 3.6 mile morning walk ithrough the Hidden Cove trails. Tilly stayed in Jeff’s office napping while the housecleaners were here. She’s spending her 2nd night in our upstairs bedroom on the floor. Tonight she went upstairs before any of us … really making herself at home!

We walked Tilly and Bubba in the morning to avoid the 90 degree weather expected today…2.5 miles on the Port Madison waterfront. After the walk, instead of napping like Bubba, Tilly was all about retrieving balls inside the house. Then she discovered a new trick…dropping a ball at the top of the stairs and chasing it down, or I catch it and throw it behind her at the top of the stairs and she’d drop it at the top of the stairs for me to retrieve and throw back up. Smart puppy! The heat didn’t slow them down, whether wrestling outside or inside. Tilly started her own hole which she likes to toss a ball in and dig out.

Bubba and Tilly, always competing for affection…click the first image to see it animated! We did some ball chasing this morning before the weather gets too hot, and then wrestling in the shade.
Tilly can’t get enough of scratches and pets…she will put her paw on my arm if I stop petting her.

After breakfast, playtime with Bubba, then a nap! Hot hot hot day, so lazing about in the house or on the deck. In the cool evening a 2 mile walk through the Hidden Cove trails and neighborhood.

Tilly’s first adventure today was going on a car ride to the Rotary Auction to pick up Anna and James. On occasion throughout the day Tilly and Bubba would play in the yard, chasing one another, sparring, and rolling around in a hole Bubba dug. In the early evening Jeff took Bubba and Tilly on a 50 minute walk through some neighborhood trails.
